OUR STAFF

Win H. Simon, Equine Professional & Owner WT Equestrian, Executive Director Southwest Horse Power, Inc.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • BA Degree in Sociology from the University of Texas/University of Texas El Paso 1978
  • EAGAL A Level 1 and Level 2 certified 2009 and EAGALA Fundamentals in 2020
  • United Way continuing education through The Center for Non Profit Excellence 2010-2013
  • Parelli Level 1 through Horsemen Havens Ranch 2010-2011
  • OK Corral Series Certified: Family Dynamics and Equine Therapy

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 2017 NM Behavioral Health Innovative Program of the Year STAR award
  • 2002 to Present - Owner WT Equestrian Inc.
  • 2010 Founder and Executive Director Southwest Horse Power, Inc. a NM 501©-3 non-profit organization

COLLABORATIONS

Win Simon is Founder and Executive Director of Southwest Horse Power a NM based 501© 3 non-profit organization. Win believes in collaborations and has established collaborative relationships with The New Mexico Women’s Justice Project, Optum Health, The American Legion and Legion Riders, Women Veterans of NM and the Veteran Riders for Wounded Warriors, The African American Rodeo Group, The South Valley Economic Development Corporation, Forward Flag, Crossroads for Women, Wings for Life, Bernalillo County Veterans Court, and Veterans Integrative Center. These collaborations have opened many doors.  The United Way, The Hancock Family Foundation, Dept. of Veterans Services, NM Dept. of Behavioral Health and Overwatch Alliance have helped to fund our Equine Integrated Therapy and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) sessions.
